Description

The FT Tiny Trainer is a Mighty Mini that is specifically designed to cover all the basics when it comes to RC Flight. Whether you are a beginner yourself, or if you are trying to bring a newcomer into this wonderful hobby, the Tiny Trainer will assist them in making every flight a great experience! This plane can be built and converted into 4 different designs that will guide you through every level of getting started flying.

TINY TRAINER ASSEMBLY GUIDE

Educators, group leaders, and parents looking to make a memory with a loved one can build the Tiny Trainer as a free flight (hand tossed) glider or a powered RC airplane.  A little clay in the nose for balance, and your ready to toss the plane back in forth with a friend! Remove the clay and add 2 servos and you have a great 2 channel glider to learn elevator and rudder control. Swap out your glider nose for the powered nose and enter into the world of 3 channel flight. Once you are comfortable with slow lazy eights and graceful loops, remove the polyhedral wing and replace it with the included sport wing. The sport wing will teach you bank and yank skills and enter you into world of aerobatics and precision flight. Install a 3 cell battery and go from cruising to cutting up the sky with vertical lines and exhilarating speed.

The Tiny Trainer will also get you up to speed with techniques used with all FT designs.  Every technique from "A Folds" to Folding wing airfoils will be used in this one build.

This airframe was developed around our Power Pack A electronics kit which is used with the Mighty Mini Series.

Over all, GREAT PLANE!!! BUILD ONE NOW!!!

The Tiny Trainer was my first FT project. The speed build kit was easy and fun. I painted it yellow with a red nose. I used the 1806 motor and tried a 2s & 3S 800mAh battery. With the 2S it was way under-powered and I had trouble staying in the air, but it flew great with the 3S battery. I got 7-13 minute flights. When I graduated to the sport wing, with ailerons, I needed almost full throttle to maintain lift, 7 minute flight times. I got many hours of flight time and had a blast!! My downfall was trying to do more than 1 roll at a time, getting disoriented, and putting it into the ground. The first time I just had to rebuild the sport wing. The second time it was game over as an RC model. That's when my son resurrected it as a chuck glider. The sport wing is not as strong as the beginner wing, this is my biggest negative. I went on to build the Mini Guinea & Simple Soarer, which I didn't like as much, before building another TT, this time from scratch. It took a couple more hours to build and I decided to stick with the Speed Build Kits from now on. Over all, GREAT PLANE!!! BUILD ONE NOW!!!

First Model Airplane

Longtime RC car user. Got a tiny trainer after watching a ton of Flite Test videos. Great first airplane. Assembly was a fun, relaxing project over 3-4 evenings. Plane flies great even by someone with no flying experience. I got the 2S 850 and it's a little heavy for the power, 10 min flight times though. I would recommend a 2S 500. I moved up to the sport wing and a 3S 850 after 15 flights or so on the glider wing. Water resistant foam board is amazing, plane spent a rainy week up in a tree and the electronics stayed totally dry inside the fuselage.
